Behind the Door
In November 2013, we lost our beloved Momma. In the quiet that followed,
A Vintage Door Boutique was born as a way to keep my hands busy and my heart hopeful.
What began as an online boutique in January 2014 soon became a storefront, opening in Murray, Kentucky just weeks later.
Over the years, the shop has grown, moved, evolved and had a few name changes.
In 2022, we relocated to Cadiz, Kentucky, where my sister Angie joined me, and together we expanded into A Vintage Door Boutique & The Thrift Shop.
Our shelves now hold a little new, and a little new-to-you. And the story? It’s still being written.
A Vintage Door Thrift Shop was shaped by a simple lesson passed down to us early in life:
take care of your needs first, and if you can, enjoy your wants.
That lesson came from our Momma, whose wisdom taught us how to stretch what we had and find value where others might not look. Second-hand shopping wasn’t just practical, it was purposeful. It showed us how meaningful something could be when given a second life.
Today, that same heart guides everything we do.
We take pride in repurposing and re-loving items that still have stories to tell. Each piece is chosen with care, not for quantity, but for character.
